The men of YVF will be camping out and hiking a monster of a mountain, Morrison. This is not for the faint of heart. The hike itself will last the entire day, so make sure you are determined to make it if you come. Not recommended for beginning hikers, but it is possible.

Deets:

Cost: $15 for gas, $ for burgers in Bridgeport on the way home

Bring: Sleeping bag and pad, lots of water, food for Friday Dinner, Sat. Breakfast, Sat. Lunch on the trail. Hiking boots (or very good walking shoes). Necessity toiletries (Toilet paper, deodorant, toothbrush).

Meet: At the church at 1:00 PM for early group, a later group will leave in the afternoon, time to be determined.

For our meeting this week, we will start at the church and go over to the school to pray for this year.  

Meet at 6:00 PM in front of sanctuary.

Next week, 6:00-8:00 starts our new night and location.  We will start with CR for worship in sanctuary.

Wednesday, Aug 24, Twentyeleven, 2:30 PM - Combined worship practice with CR squad

As we transition to Wednesday night, our worship team will combine with the CR team to create a giant robotic worship team of awesome.  If you are interested in playing, be at the church at 2:30.  In the future, practice will hopefully moved to Tue evenings. Note: bring your instrument.

Thursday, August 25 the year of our Lord Two Thousand Eleven - First ever Girly & Burly night

We are going to do several of these throughout the year.  The first will be an over-nighter. Girls will be at the Snyders’ house.  Guys on the church grounds.  Girls will groom and cry at sappy movies, Guys will sweat and kill things on the big screen.

Cost:  $3.  Covers your breakfast the next morning.

Note:  make sure you eat dinner before coming out.  Bring snacks to share.

Sunday, Veinte Ocho de Agosto (8./28), 9:30 AM- Pool Party then Farewell Feast

During church, the children/student ministries will be throwing our end-of-summer bash at the Yerington pool.  Everyone needs a permission slip (which can be obtained at church on Sunday morning).  Afterward, we will come back to the church to say goodbye to Russ and Joyce Colletta with a righteous potluck.  Come with the fam!

**Guys’ board game night** - not bored game night.  We will be ending the guys’ small group by having an awesome two hours of nerdy games.  Wednesday 5-7 PM.

**Can I Pray for You Right Now?** - we will be practicing what we learned at Cultivation Generation at the Lyon County Fair.  Meet at the church at 6:30.  We will ride out to the fair, break into small groups, and find people to pray for.

Don’t forget that we are going to Mammoth for a BBQ and all around awesome night.  Leaving YVF at 2:00.  I will drop you off at home around 10:30-11:00.  

Bring $5 for gas, and your permission slip (available on this very website, click the “important forms” on the right hand side.

Finally, come to Small groups, they are Amazing!  Seriously, a-mazing.

- we will drive there from the sanctuary after Worship Small Group if you need a ride or directions.

Hi everyone, just updated the [YVYouth](http://www.yeringtonvcf.org/yvyouth) website to use a blog format.  What this means:  all news entries will show up on the front page in listed form, instead of a static page that says the same thing each time you come visit.  Also, on trips we will be able to upload pictures and videos straight to the front page of this site.  Pretty sweet, no?

Dear Parents and Students,

As you know by now, YVYouth will be using a different schedule over summer. Instead of meeting Thursday nights, we will break into small groups throughout the week. Each month we will have at least one special event for the whole group. This page has been set up to keep you informed about upcoming events.

Small Group Choices:

Worship - Students will learn how to live a lifestyle of worship through studying the Bible and playing music. Pastor Jon will lead, but we hope to get help from Pastors Chad and Dave.

Girls’ Small Group - Girls’ Small Group - Karen Snyder will be leading a small group where girls can openly share about the challenges specific to being a teenage girl. Women from the church will come and share life with the girls who attend.

Guys’ Small Group - Guys’ Small Group - Pastor Jon will lead a small group where guys can be guys, and we will learn to follow Jesus together. This group will mostly focus on studying the life of Jesus as seen in Matthew-John.
